Back In California!

It's official! I am home from my family's vacation!

Going on vacation is always really wonderful, but coming home is incredible too. I always miss my animals, my bed, and having my own bathroom. Traveling is wonderful, but nothing beats the comfort of home!

Yesterday was our first day back and I hung out with Michael for the majority of the day. We went and saw How To Train A Dragon 2. ADORABLE! I loved the first one and the second one was just as good. I cried...so be warned. It was so nice to spend time with him after being apart for two weeks.

After I came home and went to bed at 8:30. I slept for 11 hours. The whole not sleeping well in New York thing, and the time zones was obviously affecting me!

Today my mom, sister, and I had a wonderful mother-daughter beach day. The weather was great. It is so strange to think that a week ago we were putting our feet in the Atlantic Ocean and today the Pacific.

Tonight my best friend is coming over. It has been wonderful to spend time with the people I care about the last 2 days! What a wonderful thing to come home to after vacation. It makes the laundry a little more durable ;)

Stay tuned for Boston/New York recaps coming soon!

Friday's Letters

Dear Vacation, You have been wonderful! I cannot believe that I can now cross off visiting two new states! I have been able to see so many awesome things and landmarks. I am seriously blessed to be able to go on vacations like this. However, 10 days is a long time. I am ready to head back to my familiar now.

Dear Mom and Dad, Thank you so much for taking Maddi and I on vacation. I know we both appreciate it very much!

Dear Home, I miss you! I can't wait to come home and see my kitty! I miss my bed, and my bathroom and having everything be mine.

Dear Michael, Since I know you are going to read this I miss you! I can't wait to see you Monday. I am so happy you are staying close this week rather than an hour and a half away. 2 weeks was a long time, but I know that it only prepares us for the 3 weeks we have to do in July. Psh! We got this!

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

I have officially been in New York for 2 full days now. This time around is very different than November. So many more street vendors are out, and the city is not as full of people as it was during the holidays. However, I am still loving the experience!

We have already had a packed 2 days! I feel like we have completed so much! My feet are killing me from all the walking, but it has totally been worth it!

Here's my outfit from day 1! It was super hot and humid which is a different kind of heat for this California girl! That last picture reflects my attitude about the heat.

A Day In Boston

I'm in Boston! If you have been following me on twitter than you already knew this! This outfit was from Day 2 of Boston. If you live up here in New England than you know that it has been raining....and not just light rain. Our first day here in Boston it poured! Which was something that my family was not expecting. We didn't exactly pack for rain. So sadly this wasn't exactly one of my cute outfits that I had thought up, but here's to outfits anyway!

These pictures were snapped when the sun had finally just started coming out! We were right by The Old North Church where Paul Revere hung the lanterns! This city is full of history and I am finding it very interesting!

Friday's Letters

Dear Boston, We made it! I am so happy to be here. You are a tad dirtier than I was expecting, but that's okay! I have only seemed part of you so far. I cannot wait to see the rest! Day one has been a blast. However, it would be really nice if you could pull out some sunshine!

Dear Rain, I love you, but I was not prepared for you. So could you go away so I could wear the clothes I packed.

Dear Home, I miss you and my animals already.

Packing

The worst part of a trip is packing. At least to me anyway. I hate having to pack and then unpack.I just do not enjoy it. Oh I know there are a million different articles on the "best way to pack," but I still detest packing.

I mean 1) how can I choose what clothes to bring. I know most people like to pack in the form of outfits, but I have never done that. I like to just pack clothes and have choices when I get somewhere.

2) It never all fits! How am I suppose to fit what I need in such a small space. Not to mention a suitcase has to only weigh a certain amount now a days. This just becomes even more difficult.

So here I am trying to fit clothes, shoes, and toilet trees into my suitcase. We leave for Boston tomorrow and I could not be more excited. I just would really like to get the packing part out of the way..

When Life Gets Busy, and You Work A Lot...

When life gets busy, and you work a lot...

...you don't always sleep well. Then there's always the problem of the kitten who keeps you up at night wanting his face rubbed.

...your throat starts to hurt, but you really do not have the time to be sick. Bring on the DayQuil!

...you miss those moments of staying home and doing nothing.

...this oh so precious and near to your heart blog starts to get rejected, and it makes you sad to think about.

...your friends miss you a lot, and you feel so bad that there are some of them you haven't seen in weeks. (please forgive me ladies! I'm trying!)

...that vacation you are leaving on in 3 days seems so close and yet so far off.

...you try to fit to many things into your schedule, but all of those items MUST GET DONE!

That being said, I am so sorry for my lack of involvement over here. Hopefully I will have time to blog here coming up, and you can expect some awesome posts after my vacation or better yet during!

My Sister, The Graduate

So I am first going to start this post off apologizing for my lack of activity over here on the blog. It has been a busy week, and I have another busy one coming up! Please bare with me here.

Anyway I know it's Monday and I usually recap my weekend, but something exciting happened this weekend so we shall recap tomorrow!

MY SISTER GRADUATED!!!

I don't know about you, but it makes me feel so old. She's all grown up. My baby sister is an adult and headed to college. I mean we all knew our siblings would grow up one day, but it is still so strange to see it happen!

I don't really remember much about my own graduation. I wasn't really into it, and my senior year I had changed schools so friends were scarce. I was just so ready to get out of high school and onto the next stage in life.

However, seeing my sissy graduate and all the fun things that she has got to do this past year makes me wish I could have had that experience. It's something that I am now striving to do in college. I want to make those lasting relationships, and awesome memories.

Except now I get to do it with my sister! We haven't been at the same school in two years and I am so excited to have her with me. She registered for classes this past week. Once again it is so weird to see her growing up!

So Congratulations Graduates! I am so proud of you!!
