Backwards Braid Into A Bun

Sometimes when I actually have the time I do enjoy playing with my hair. I have pretty straight hair, and it can be very slick and slippery so some hairstyles are harder than others for me. My inspiration came from Amber who posted this hairstyle on instagram. Her hair is my absolute favorite, and I think it looked a bit cleaner on her, but I really liked wearing it myself.

HOW TO
STEP 1: Part your hair. I like mine on the side, but you can do yours however you prefer.
STEP 2: Start at the crown of your head and do a backwards french braid down your head. Once you get to a spot for your bun stop braiding and put a clear elastic to hold the braid in place.
STEP 3: Take the rest of your hair and make a messy bun.

All done!! Let Amber know you tried out her hairstyle, or I would love to see it too! Tag me on instagram or twitter at @justmissymoo

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all are surrounded by the people you love today. In my family my mom always cooks the turkey, and then my grandma and her husband come over for lunch. Tonight, my family is going to try and brave the mall and do the whole black Friday on a Thursday thing.

Here's what I am wearing this Thanksgiving. Southern California didn't get the memo that on Thanksgiving it's suppose to be cold...instead its suppose to be almost 90! We can't seem to get the weather right here. Here's hoping for some cold weather soon! I thought about pairing this top with some black jeans too. Depending on what you do on Thanksgiving you could pair a simple top like this with a blazer to dress it up even more!

Chambray and The Man Bun

Chambray...jean shirt...whatever you call them you know that we all love them! They are seriously the best! No matter how many types you have we all have our one favorite too. This one happens to be mine. I stumbled upon it at a thrift store a few years back and it has been my favorite ever since. No matter how many more I buy I always come back to this particular jean shirt. It just fits perfect! I can wear it by itself or layer it and I always feel good about myself. Jean shirts are just a classic go to for me! I probably wear it all to often, but who doesn't right?!

Also the man bun...or half-up top knot if you want it to sound more feminine. I'm not sure how I feel about this particular hairstyle yet, but I decided to try it. It worked well with my second day hair, and it kept my hair out of my face which is always a plus. I think that when done right it can be a nice hairstyle.

What is your take on the man bun?

Casual Cute

This outfit was inspired by a friend that I walked past on my campus last week. She has amazing style, and I saw her in something similar and I thought "Hey I could recreate that!" So I put my own spin on it and voila

I spent my day in classes all day so it was super comfortable as well. I prefer to have my hair out of my face on my long class filled days too. This hairstyle is so easy! I also liked that once braided it showed off my highlights.

Blake Lively Inspired Half-Up Side Fishtail

Today's post is inspired by Blake Lively. For one, who doesn't want this girls hair?! She is seriously gorgeous. Also did you guys here she's pregnant now? Her and Ryan Reynolds are going to have the most adorable child ever!

Anyway....on to the hair!
The pictures above show my rendition of this style, and my inspiration. Another awesome inspiration can be found on the blog His Little Lady. As you can see Blake's hair is a bit messier than mine. This can easily be achieved by first adding some waves to your hair. I left my natural texture for this style which is pretty straight and sleek.
TO CREATE:
Step 1: Brush through hair and create a side part.
Step 2: Right above the ears gather hair and pull to the side.
Step 3: Create a fishtail braid and secure with an elastic.
Step 4: Pull apart the fishtail to give it a more messy spread out look.

There ya go! If you do try out this hairstyle send me an email, tweet me, or tag me on instagram!

A New Hair Style

Last week Michael took me up to Big Bear to visit his parents for the day. I wanted to wear jeans as I knew some of the time would be spent just chilling at his house however, I still wanted to look cute of course!

This hair style is something I have seen alllllll over Pinterest. Every time I had tried it in the past though this hairstyle seemed to fail. This time around though I tried it with a different hand band and I seemed to have gotten the hang of it! This hair style lasted me all day. There were  a few times when I could feel it coming loose and I just had to tuck it in again. Other than that though I am really impressed with the look and last of this style. Not to mention its such an easy way to do second day hair!

Just Came Together

This outfit came together in a very "I didn't wash my hair, and it looks really bad kind of way." I threw my hair up in a bun and then added the bow. If you all don't know this already I love bows. They make me feel girly, and adorable.

So on the bow went and the rest just kind of fell into place. I didn't realize that it would be a cute outfit until my sister goes "Hey! You look really cute." So a photo shoot happened and here we are!

Another random fact about this outfit is that I have begun to realize I wear these boots almost everyday! I love them. They are so comfortable, and they keep my feet warm. I am so hard on my combat boots that I am considering investing in a pair of Steve Madden's or a better brand of boots. What do you guys think?

January Favorites

I know...It is February 18...Wayyy past the time for January Favorites. However, I did have this post planned life has just been way to busy for it to get up here on the blog. Please forgive me! These products are still my favorites, and I am completely still loving them! So here we go!

1. Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Shampoo and Conditioner  I have heard so many good things about this stuff all over the internet I just had to try it for myself! I don't use it every day, but probably about 2 or 3 times a week. AND IT WORKS! I can completely see a difference in my hair. It feels longer! I don't know what the magic of this stuff is, but if you are trying to grow your hair out I completely recommend it!

2. Acne Solutions Clear Skin System Starter Kit I have had problems with acne for awhile now, and I refused to try proactive. Absolutely refused! I heard about this stuff, and they have a money back guarantee so I considered trying it. My mom got it for me for Christmas, and it is another miracle worker! I saw a difference in a week. It was awesome to actually see the products working on my face. I used up my starter kit, and actually bought the starter kit a second time. When I ran out I immediately broke back out which really proved to me that this stuff was working.

3. Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick I have the shade Bulletproof Beige. I have actually had this stick for a couple months now it was just last month that I really started to use it. It took me awhile to figure out how I liked using this product, but now I love it! I have used it as a base, or a crease color. I find that I don't really like it as a highlight. However, it does stay on very well!

4. Mac Lipstick This is the shade Retro. I literally love this! This is the first and only mac product I own. Yet, I love it! The shade fits me so well, and I can wear it as fancy or just day to day. I just love it!

What are some products you are loving right now? Any suggestions of products for me to try? Have you tried any of these products?

Cold Weather Beauty Tips

Cold Weather Beauty Tips

Being that it is winter I decided to do a post about how I combat the cold. I promise that when I had this idea it was actually cold in California. Yet as of late it has been about 70-75 degrees. Not Christmas or New Years like weather at all. Yet, I figured that maybe someone is reading this who is actually in a cold climate place and these products might help them.

My beauty products do not change drastically from summer to winter since California does not really have seasons. There are a few differences though!

In the morning I use the target version of the aveno moisturizer. This stuff works really well, and I find that it doesn't make my face oily or clog my pores. I also like that there is SPF in the product.

The rest of these products I use at night however after I shower I always lotion up! I never like dry skin so lotion is so important!

At night I will use the other up & up moisturizer. I use this one at night since it doesn't have any SPF in it. I don't like to use this one every night since my face is rather oily. However, if I feel very dry or there are portions of my face that feel dry I like to apply it.

On my bedside table I keep chapstick. As many as I can! The 8 hour one I received in my Birchbox and completely love it! I don't feel like it actually lasts 8 hours, but it is still helpful. I also keep the Bath and Body Works sleep lotion. Like I said I do not like dry skin so I keep my hands moisturized. This stuff is nice since the smell helps calm ones mind.

How do you keep your skin good during winter? Have you tried any of these products?

Christmas Haul

For Christmas this year I received a lot of beauty gift cards, and gifts. I thought it would be really cool to share these products with you! These are not all of my Christmas gifts, and some of them I purchased myself with gift cards. So lets dive on in!

Obviously these products are not all from the same place. My sister bought me everything on the right from Victoria's Secret. I received the pure seduction mist, the sensual blush lotion, the sheer love body butter, and 8 pink roll on perfumes. The Coco Mademoiselle by Channel was my Christmas present from Donny. The 4 shower gels are from Bath and Body Works. They were having an awesome sale when I went in. The 4 scents I bought were Capri Seaside Citrus,  Twilight Woods (my favorite!!), Paris Nights, and Paris Amour. I think all of these scents are really nice, and I am excited to try them out. With buying those 4 I think I am definitely set on shower gel for awhile!

These two shirts are both from Pacsun. I had received a gift card for Christmas. Pacsun was having a really cool sale buy one shirt get one free. My total came to about $29 which I think is a really good deal for 2 shirts! Each has a lace/mesh material involved. You can kind of see that in the picture. I really liked the red shirt!

AND last but not least, my Ulta and beauty gifts! I received the Clinque from my parents. It is something I had been wanting for a while now. I refuse to try proactive. I just heard so many horrible things about it. Clinque has this really good 100% satisfaction guarantee. I am on day 5 of using it. The box says that in a day you should feel a difference and in a week you should see one. I seriously already feel a difference! My acne is already starting to heal, and my skin looks way smoother. It does make me feel a little dry, but I haven't been using my normal moisturizer to let the Clinque do its own magic. I am really impressed so far!

From Ulta I bought the Not Your Mother's Way to Grow Shampoo and Conditioner. I have heard and read so many good reviews about this stuff. Being that I try soooo hard to grow my hair out I am willing to try anything! I also bought the Tresemme dry shampoo, Revlon color stay foundation, and Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner. I already used the black version of this, but I normally prefer brown eyeliner on most days so this was something I have been wanting to purchase.

The pink sponge is a target dupe for the beauty blender. It was a $5 purchase. I have never used one before, but I am excited to see how it works!

The Mac lipstick is in the shade Retro. I have never ever bought anything from Mac before. I had some money left over to Nordstrom from when Donny bought my perfume. I was able to use it on the lipstick. I really love the way this shade looks on me and I am so excited to wear it!

So there ya go! There's my Christmas haul! What did you get for Christmas? Have you tried any of these products?

October Favorites 2013

Okay guys, I am so sorry! The last two days have been kind of busy and every time I go to post something ends up coming up. Please, please forgive me!

Anyway...can you believe today is November 1st?! I can't!! Christmas is almost here, and then the new year! It just is all coming so fast!

With a new month comes favorites! I didn't really buy or try out a lot of new beauty products this month. My money went other places sadly, I managed to scrape up a few new thing, and some oldies but goodies!

 1. St. Ives Green Tea Scrub I love this stuff! I had bought a travel size of it and fell head over heels in love. I am serious you guys! A lot of scrubs or exfoliaters, I feel like, they don't do a good enough job. I never really feel like that get into my skin. Well this stuff does! You can feel the graininess of the product and you can feel the clean after! The price is good too!

2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick This color is "Certainly Red." I like it, but it isn't my favorite! When I bought it I was hoping for a bit more darker red then bright. I have fairly dark lips as is and so lighter lipsticks don't look good on me. This one works, and the color lasts a very long time! It does have a tendency to get everywhere, but the color stays on even after drinking from cups.

3. Wet N Wild Eye Shadow I had this trio awhile back, but it broke. Sad day :( My mama was nice enough to get me a new one the last time I had gone grocery shopping with her. You obviously need a primer with these shadows, but the colors are really nice.

4. Neutrogena Shine Control Primer This was in mt favorites back in May. That seems like so long ago to me! Yet, this is still an amazing product! I do not use it ever day, but on days when I know I have to be out late and I need my make up to last it is a life saver!

5. ChapStick® Hydration Lock I got this product in my Birchbox this last month. I really enjoy it. On the little description card it said that it is an amazing lip primer and I could not agree more. I also can really feel a difference when using it!

That's my favorite's for the month! What were yours? Have you tried any of these products?

September Empties

I felt like all of my necessaries ran out all a the same time! That was not fun. Everything I needed I was repurchasing lately. I don't have a lot of empties, but it felt like a freak out when you know your foundation is running low! So here is my empties for September.

1. Maybelline Clean Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover This make up remover is amazing. It's around $5 and that was a little hard for me to buy. I felt like I went through it really fast yet looking back I think it actually lasted me a pretty long time. I did not buy this again since I wanted to try something else, but I regret that now. Once I finish my waterproof remover I am definitely going back to this stuff. It worked really well, and I didn't feel like it was to harsh on my eyelashes.

2. ColorStay Makeup For Combo/Oily Skin This is a foundation that I am sticking with! I love it! The coverage is great, and it doesn't feel to cakey. I have already repurchased this foundation. I am the shade 220 Natural Beige. I can say the one frustrating thin was that it doesn't look empty. Yet, I had this thing upside down, I was banging it on my hand. I tried everything! That kind of bugged me. I felt like I was throwing away more foundation that I could have used. However, this was not a reason to change foundation, at least to me.

3. NYC Cheek Glow Blush I was using the shade Riverside Rose. This blush is really inexpensive, but I feel like you get what you pay for. The color isn't great, and it doesn't last long. I was buying it as I didn't want to spend to much on blush. I seem to have a hard time finding a good blush for a decent price.

4.  Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer Everyone should use this. It is amazing! I have already repurchased this item as well. I love it. I just can't even explain just it's amazing you should try it!

5. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder This stuff is really great too! I repurached this as well. It is inexpensive and does keep me matte. I have incredibly oily skin so if I am going all day long I will reapply sometimes, but it isn't super coverage so it doesn't cover anything I already did.

September Favorites 2013

It's that time again!! A new month is upon us! Can you believe it is already October?! I cannot believe that this year is already over. It seems to have gone by so fast. Anyway!! Here is my September monthly favorites. For some reason there is lots of eye make up this month. With the start of school I have been doing my make up much nicer lately! So here we go!

1. e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit I am the shade medium. I have never used any sort of brow pencil or brow kit before. This one is okay. I really do like the way that it makes my eye brows look, but it does make them a little greasey. The powder part that is given does help with the greasy look a little, but not a lot. I did include this is my favorites though as I think it is a pretty good product and inexpensive.

2. Covergirl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows This is seriously one of my favorite triples ever! I love the colors, and it looks amazing on my brown eyes! The name is shimmering sands. You all should just go buy it! I absolutly love it! I haven't tried the shadows individually but when put together they are beautiful. You can see all the colors on your eyes and how they mix. It is just wonderful and I just love it!

3. Physicians Formula Baked Collection Wet/Dry Eye Shadow This triple is so pretty as well! I havent tried it wet yet. I will have to get back to you on that one! However, the dry formula is great! You can really see the difference of the light to dark colors. It also shows the darkest crease color very well!

4. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow This eye shadow is very glittery. Not so much pigmented, but very shimery. I find that it is best used as just a top. Not a base, highlight, or crease. Rather just an add to everything you have already done. It is very pretty though!

5. Essie Nail Polish This is a shade from the fall 2013 collection. This is the shade cashmere bathrobe. I mean it's essie what is there bad to say? It is just simple amazing!
