Home Is Where Your Mama Is

This is the sign that I started with. My mom found it when we were moving, and I have been saving it to paint on! If you don't have an actual sign, any piece of wood will work. I love everything about wood signs, and was so excited to make this one! I found the saying at a little flea market that my mom had taken my sister, and me too. This saying is so me! I love my mom, and could seriously never move away from her! If you know me personally, you know this! I go shopping and still send my mom pictures of what I am buying...all to get her opinion. I just love my mom! So let's jump in, and maybe you all can make a sign too!

The first step is to paint the whole board pink. That is just the color I choose (it's my favorite) but you can choose whatever color you want! I painted the sign a few times and let it dry between layers. This made sure that I covered everything and evenly.

Next, I went on pinterest and found the lettering that I wanted. I was going to use a stencil, but I found that to just be to difficult, and writing it out myself was wayyyy simpler! You can only kind of see the writing in the picture. Sorry about that!

Next I started out with my white paint and a smaller detail brush and went over the letters that I had penciled in. I did this one time just to get the letters, and then I went through and did the edges to get a straighter line.

After I finished all the writing I went in and drew with a pencil the house. Then painted over it again just how I wanted.

Here is the final project! I totally am loving it and can't wait to hang it up!

Relaxing Weekend

Hello Lovelies!

How was your weekends? Mine was completely relaxing! Which was quite a change from the last 2 weeks!

Friday night I stayed home all by myself and took a nice long shower and then crawled into my parents bed and watch pride and prejudice. I have seriously been craving to watch that movie for weeks now! I just love England, and I mean Mr. Darcy...what girl can resist him?!
It was so nice to do nothing all night long!

Saturday my mom took my sister and me out to our outlet mall to do some school shopping. We are a very close family, and getting to spend time us girls was lovely! We came home and watch The Great Gatsby and my mom made dinner.

Sunday I wasn't feeling to well and mostly sat at home. I had some homework and chores to do. My sister went to Disneyland and I stayed home with my parents.

We went out and got a little treat last night too.

It was a completely relaxing weekend since school has started. I really enjoyed it!

What did you guys do?

Friday's Letters!

Dear School, It has been nice getting back into the swing of things. However, finding my classes has been a challenge. I know I will get it though! I am blessed to be at such a welcoming campus though!

Dear Weather, You have been just terrible! I do not live in Florida, and I do not want to. The humidity can be gone now! If it is going to rain then please let it be cold! If you wanted to be 106 you should have done that in July. It is now time for fall. So please autumn come soon!

Dear D, I just back into the rhythm of seeing you, and now you leave again. I miss you already. I know 4 days is not long, but I really do hope that it goes by quickly!

Dear Weekend, I haven't had a day off in over week, so I plan on thoroughly enjoying you. Please last long, and give me some time to relax!

August 2013 Favorites

Girls! It's September! Which means Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are right around the corner! Can you believe it?! I can't! Yet, I am so excited for fall to start!

Anywayyy, it is time for my August Favorites. Let's get started!

1.  Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo...So I know I have literally mentioned these in almost every Favorites, but they are seriously AMAZING!! If you use them then you know just how great they are, and if you aren't using them then you should be! This one is from their Metal's Collection, and it is Barely Branded. It is kind of a white, tanny color. It gives a lot of shimmer and I like that!

2. Physicians Formula-Physicians Strength Concealer...This is the first Physicians Formula product that I have ever bought and used. It was a little expensive for my taste, but I have heard a lot of people rave about it. Now I know why. It really is amazing, and the color is perfect to use on blemish's, or under the eye. I use the color natural light. If you are looking for a good cover up then I seriously recommend it!

3. e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer...This is a super cheap primer, but it works amazing! That is literally all I can say about this.

4. Almay Color + Care™ Liquid Lip Balm...The color that I have here is "Pink Pout." I really like this lip gloss, one because it is not sticky, and two the color is really vibrant. It lasts a pretty long time. You do have to reapply, but I think it last pretty a pretty good time!

I Am Grateful For...Friends, and Spare Time

Hello Lovely Friends!

Today I am back linking up with the wonder Sarah and her Grateful Link Up. So away we gooooo (you can read that in Peter Pan's voice...because that is how I was saying it!)

 I am grateful for....

Friends....These last 2 weeks I have been a part of a group. A part of a small family. I have been hanging out with 15 other college kids my age, and I have loved it! It has been so nice having a group of friends. Growing up this always seemed to be a rare thing for me. Sad as it is, that is just the way it was. I learned to live with it, and I learned not to care. However, when I did find a group I definitely cherished them. So I am very very thankful for my new group of friends!

Spare Time...Since I have had training the last two weeks have been very hectic. If you have read any of the last few posts you all know that. Something that was missing out of my busy schedule was free time. Some people can live a life on the go. My sister is one of those people. However, I am not! I love my home, and I love getting to relax. Now that school has started I cannot wait to be able to find some sort of routine and be able to have some sort of down time. So for those who may have a lot of free time. Enjoy it!

First Day Of School

jeans: Hollister
tank top: Forever 21
necklace: Frever21

Today is a day full of nerves. It is a day full of excitement as well, though. First days of school...we have all had them, or are still having them. That nervousness of trying to find the right classroom, and make it there on time. The awkwardness of the teacher trying to be cool on the first day of class. Trying to see if you know anyone else in your classes.

First days! We all love them, and we all hate them. The best thing we do is just endure it. We sit through the introductions, and the very long syllabus (hate those!). We have our schedules in hand (or if you are more prepared than me you have it memorized), the brand new pencils sharpened, and our notebooks ready for any notes the teacher gives.

First days back to school give us all a new way of life for the next year, or semester. It starts us out on a new routine that no one is ready for. However, we all seem to bounce right back into it like we did have those long summer months in between. We may have forgotten where all the buildings are, or how to print off the syllabus yet we get through it.

So here's to all you guys who have started school, or are starting in the next few days. You got this! No need to be worried. Just enjoy the ride, because sooner or later you won't have a first day anymore. Enjoy the stage of life in which you are at right now.

Comment and tell me about your day back. I would love to hear it!

Finally! A Post!

Hello, Hello, Hello!!!

I have seriously missed this little space of the internet so much! I really do love to blog, and being a part was such a bummer! This past week has been super intense with my new job. I have had no time to do anything else! I have barely even seen my family, or Donny. Now that training, and new student orientation is over I am finally back to you all, and then school starts tomorrow! I cannot believe that it is September already! I promise I will get my August favorites up soon!

Anyway, I am going to use this time to tell you all, a little bit about what I have been up to the last 2 weeks. My new bosses seriously have blessed our staff immensely. I am so excited to be apart of this office on campus. I cannot wait for the year to come!

The first week was mostly just training, and some team bonding time. We interns new nothing of the plans, and most things were a surprise. We all just had to go with the flow.

So here is just some pictures from the last 2 weeks!

This picture is actually from the week before. Instead of taking us on a leader retreat our bosses decided to do a stay vacation. They took us all to the beach and paddle boarding. I had never been before, and seriously that is so much fun! I totally recommend it! Something that the bosses did for us at the beach was that when we got there they served us breakfast. It was really awesome to have them set an example for us of how to serve the other students on my college campus. No one is above each other, and if my boss can serve me than I can serve anyone.

This is a picture with almost all of our staff this year. I think we were only missing one of the bosses. We put on the game show price is right for the new students. It was a blast, and my boss did such an amazing job planning it all out!!

One of the bigger things that CBU does during new student orientation is what we call the Clash N' Bowl. It is where the only way you can get into the bowling alley is if your clothes don't match. I remember it from my own orientation, and it is seriously so much fun! My job this year was just to be crazy! We had to pump the kids up, and make sure they were all having a good time!

Last night was the last day of orientation, and it was also one of the girls birthdays. Some of the interns went out to get donuts to celebrate!

Getting to know my new staff has seriously been so fun for me. I really love being apart of a group. It was also so cool to be able to help out at orientation, and serve CBU whenever they needed us. I cannot wait for the year to come!
