Painting, Celebrating, and More Boxes

Hello My Dear Friends,

It is Monday again. How is your Monday fairing so far? Mine is pretty good. I just got up and ate some cereal. Now I am off to dive into the blogging world. I love this world. It is fun, and full of learning about people I have never met before. Yet, I care so much about and they seem to care about me.

Sorry...little tangent there. Anyway! It is the weekend recap time with Sami.

First, I am going to start off with Friday. I know that technically doesn't count as the weekend, but I always seem to add it in here. Friday was Donny and my one year anniversary. However, he had to work in the morning time so my mom and I worked on the new house. One of the main things I really wanted to do for my room was add an accent wall. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I was painting on Friday.

I am so proud of my wall, and I am in love with the color! I cannot wait for it all to be set up!
Then Friday night Donny and I went to Disneyland to celebrate our anniversary. We had a wonderful time! It was a nice to have some time just to ourselves. We got anniversary buttons and ate cotton candy while watching World of Color.

Saturday I ran errands with my parents for the new house and then D took me out to dinner to Olive Garden. We wanted to go there since that was where he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed our little date.

Sunday I helped my mama unpack boxes at the new house for the kitchen, and then I went to work. It has been a pretty busy weekend, and seems to be that a pretty busy week is coming up for my family and me!

Did any of you do something fun this weekend?

What I Have Loved

The first thing I have been loving this last week is the new color of my wall. I have been looking at paint chips for weeks! Finally having picked a color I am so happy to have my room all painted. Now I just cannot wait to set it up and sleep in there!

If you have not seen this movie then you need to! It is such a great movie! My sister and I watched this on Tuesday. I love this movie.

I know that those are only two things that I have been loving, but I really haven't had a lot to talk about. Most of the week was focused on the fact that we got the house!

New House, and My One Year Anniversary

Dear Friday, I am so stoked that you are here! I have you and Saturday off! That makes me very excited!

Dear New House, I can officially call you our home! We have the keys and are finally able to start moving in. I cannot wait to paint my room and get my bed set up. The whole moving in process cannot go by fast enough!

Dear Donny, One year ago today you asked me to be your girl friend. Was I surprised? No, I was definitely expecting it. However, I was overjoyed anyway! I am so blessed to have you in my life! Thank you for being a wonderful man of God and a pretty awesome boyfriend! I cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do next.

Dear Readers, I promise I am trying to get better at posting, and taking pictures. Also, please let me know if there is some sort of post you want to see! I love hearing from you all!

Daddy's Birthday and Life Lately

Hello Dear Ones!

Before I start with anything else, I have to give a shout out to my wonderful father!

Today is his birthday! So you should all be wishing him a very Happy Birthday! I am so blessed to have such a Godly example in my life. He is such an amazing dad to both my sister and me.

Now onto my life lately with Heater!

A new coffee cup! This cup is by Mary Engelbrelt. I absolutely love her art work. We have a few of her cups around the house here and I love them! Secretly I collect them ;)

This was a quick picture I took at a recent trip my sister and I took at the library. I was trying to be artistic...can ya tell? I just love the library. My mom had us reading when we were very little, and books are like old friends to me. My mom took my sister and me to story time and read to us all the time. The library is literally one of my favorite places. I wish I could go there more often.

My best friend Tori stopped by the other day and we had a nice long talk together. I love those days with old good friends. We could literally talk for hours and hours. We never seem to run out of stuff. That's how I know that we are super close.

Okay guys, that's all I have for you today! How are your weeks going?

Fourth of July, Weddings, and Disneyland

Hello Wonderful Friends,

It feels like forever since I have posted anything on this blog. I am so sorry about that! Since the Fourth it has been a whirlwind of crazy events! I am just going to jump in and start telling you all about it!

That is my sister and me rocking our home made Fourth of July outfits. This Fourth of July was very different for me then most. I don't know about you all, but we kind of always do the same thing on holidays. I have come to expect this. However, this Fourth was very different. My family normally went down to a local school and watched the firework show that was shot off of a hill near by. Since we have recently moved out of that house near the school and hill we weren't able to do that this year. Also, I was scheduled to work on Fourth of July. That is another change that happened this Fourth. So my family hung out together in the morning time, but come about 2:00 everyone went their separate ways. My parents and sister to different parties, and me to work. The good news was that the mall closed early so I was off before any of the fireworks went off. I headed up to D's house, and spent the evening with his family.

Friday, I do not have pictures for....sadly. I know, I know! Punish me. I had a rehearsal for the wedding the next day, and then D and I went out on a date. We went to dinner and a movie.

Saturday was the wedding. I was there pretty much all day, so there really isn't anything to tell. It was beautiful, and I am so happy for my wonderful friends!

On Sunday I spent the whole day at Disneyland! Donny, my sister, and I all went and we had a blast! We got to see the new show at Disneyland, and it wasn't even packed.

This weekend was exhausting, but really fun. Now for the week. I am hoping that there will be a moving into the new house post coming *wink**wink*

How was your weekends? Any plans for the week?

June Favorites

Hello Darlings!

Can you believe it's July already?! I can't! I feel like summer has gone by so fast! I'm not complaining though. I want to be back in school already. Well with the end of June comes one of my favorite posts, and videos to see. That is the June Favorites! I love seeing what everyone else has been loving this past month, and what fun new products I like to try out. So lets hop in and get started!

Oh...wait! One more thing! I only have 4 beauty favorites this month, and I apologize for that. Everything has been so crazy lately with the house and since I haven't been home, or rather avoiding being at the rental I haven't been trying a lot of new things, but hopefully July will hold to new things!

1. Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser I discovered this on Ingrid's May Favorites. I am loving it. It really has decreased the oil in my skin, and gives me this matte finish. I tend to use this product at night..which I don't know if that's okay or not, but I do it anyway. It makes your face feel clean. Once I am washing it off it gives it that fresh, clean, nothing on my face feeling.

2. So I actually think Ingrid talked about this and I went and bought it as well! It is the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. I am the shade 850, but I would actually say this is a little dark for me. When I went to buy it they didn't have a lighter shade so I just picked the closest one. I am absolutely loving this foundation! It is one of my complete favorites! It is a medium coverage, but I think it works perfect for me. It keeps my shine at a minimum, even after I have worn it most of the day. I just love it, and cannot seem to rave about it enough!

3. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow. This is the color inked in pink, and I really like this one. I have the taupe color as well, but that one isn't my favorite. I wear this pink a lot as a base. It gives a nice color.

4. This is the NYC Nail Polish in Sidewalkers. I bought it at target, but I couldn't find it online to link back up to. I painted my nails this last night, and love the color! It looks exactly like what you see in the bottle. I would say that it doesn't dry in a minute like the bottle says though. It does dry fast, but it still is a little tacky and can leave imprints after a minute. I don't think this is that bad though since most nail polishes don't dry that fast.

Okay! That is my June Favorites! Now on to July. Hopefully this month will include lots of favorites, and moving. I am really hoping to move!

DIY American Flag Shorts

Hello Pretty Ladies!

How are you all on this fine Monday? Normally I would post my weekend update today, but I had a very uneventful weekend. All I did was work. Plus, I really want to get this DIY up since the Forth of July is right around the corner.

So lets jump in!

What you will need:
Shorts
Tape
Paint - red, white, and blue

Paint Brushes

A star stencil, outline, or stamp

First, you start with a pair of shorts. That was a little self explanatory I know, but I thought I should include it! I actually made these shorts myself. They aren't high waisted like the other ones, but you can use the same type of method to cut them. Which you can find here. The difference is that instead of the pants that you are cutting being high waisted just choose normal pants.

I choose to do the back first. There wasn't a reason for this I just wanted to start on the back. I first taped around the back pockets to make sure that the paint didn't get on anything but the pockets.
I then taped the entire pocket so I could make the strips the even width. I pulled off every other piece of tape. I choose to start with the white since I figured I could clean up the white if it bled with red.
Also! On the back of my paint it said to put card board between the fabric so that is why part of a cereal box is in the pocket. The paint also said that I needed to do 2-3 coats

The next step was the red. I covered the white with tape so that way I didn't mess anything up. After I painted the red I took the tape off and went back with a smaller brush to clean up the lines.

I then moved to the next pocket and painted that blue. I only had to tape around the pocket since I was not doing stripes...obviously... For the stars, I cut out the star shape out of card board and used that to paint the stars on the pocket. I kind of did this just in lines as if it was an American Flag.

Here is the final product of the back pockets!

Next was the front. I painted the left side blue and then as that dried I taped off the other side for the stripes. This was the same steps as the back.

I did the white stripes, then went and did the stars. As those dried I went to do the red.

Something my paint said on the back was let the paint dry for 72 hours. I did the shorts in a few days so the paint could dry and I could touch areas up.

That's it! Here is the FINAL PRODUCT!!!

Please, comment and tell me what you think or tell me if you have tried making shorts! I'd love to hear from you.
